Genesis

I have been reading and I thought I would share my thoughts on starting to read the Bible and "some" of my thoughts on Genesis. I am really enjoying reading and I am glad I started in the Old Testament.  I do believe it will take me awhile to read the entire Bible, but I am going to enjoy the journey.

I will continue to share some of my journey.  However I do believe if you have read the Bible or plan to read it you have or will find some things are too personal to share with the entire world. I do have a friend who reading also. I call her and talk and she told me "yeah not everyone is ready for an evangelical friend".  That is hilarious!  

So far this is what I think of Genesis . . .

1.  I love all the Agriculture correlations.  If you have Agriculture in your DNA you should read Genesis.  As for the rest of the Bible, I will have to let you know.

2.  There are some really naughty people in Genesis who did some really questionable things.  I don't believe I will never use the phrase "what is the world coming to" ever again. Yes Genesis is that "wrong".

3.  I understand why later in the Bible, God puts men in charge of the household.  Women made one terrible decision after another in Genesis.  I guess we just can't be trusted.  bahahaha.  First there was Eve but then there was Sarah's decision to "get" a child. Wow!

4. I also found it interesting that for my entire life I thought Noah and his family only stayed on the boat for 40 days and 40 nights.  I do believe this would be bad enough with all of those animals and their waste.  But really they had to wait for a lot longer than that for the water to recede. I love animals but that was a long time.

Bottom Line: I would recommend reading Genesis from a Bible that explains the verses like Cliff Notes on the bottom of each page.  I would recommend reading Genesis like I would recommend a good movie.
