"pink slime"

So it's March and a rather pleasant March all over the country.  The Media is looking for ratings as they always do this time of year.  They usually find something to stir everyone up with in February and March.  It easiest to boost rating and stir everyone up with something food related, since we all eat.  The agriculture industry seems to find themselves in this circle most of the time.

The Media has not failed us, and this years topic to upset mom's and cause panic among consumers is "pink slime".

If you haven't read about it - here is one article about the "pink slime".

My thoughts on the story

1. Must we induce panic among mothers, who want to do what's best for their children.

2. Must we always attack a lower priced product. Acting as if mother's should pay a premium for higher end products in a terrible economy for many, if they want to be a better mother.

3. Why must mother's make petitions and write letters for them not to put this product in the school lunches? It is an option to pack your child's lunch the two time a month when beef is actually served.  In addition I might add if you are attacking this product you might want to check into chicken nugget day also.

4. I have all the faith a person could have, that our beef sources from pasture to plate are the safest in the world.  There is just too much for too many to lose for it not to be.

Have a little faith and eat a burger!
