Consumer - the obvious choice

It was brought to my attention by a user of Agriculture products that she did not want to be called a consumer.  I immediately thought huh!  This all encompassing word has been used forever in Agriculture.  The meaning is a person who uses goods or services for personal use.  Can it get any clearer then that?  I have mauled this over the last few days and now think it would be fun to try to stop using the word.  I am doing fairly well. Please help me in creating a list to replace the word consumer (just for fun!).
