Found: In a rut

I found this calf down in a rut.  I couldn’t even see this calf until I drove the 4-wheeler really close to him.  His mother was off grazing and I believe he was in a deep slumber.  He was in a safe spot, laying in the warm sun.  Jake wanted me to bring him and his mama to the top of the hill.  Although the 4-wheeler was right next to him, he didn’t even move.  I jumped off and shook him and still no response.  His mama was now watching me from a distance.  Although Jake was waiting for me, I decided this would be a great picture opportunity.  I grabbed his head with one hand and snapped this picture with the other.  He was still not moving.
